Natalia Korolevska: The “Ukraine – Forward!” Party will form a new opposition
October 30, 2012

“We admit our defeat. According to our estimates, the “Ukraine – Forward!” Party was supported by 4.7% of voters. However, our result was blurred by artificial overstatement of voter turnout. Once-opposition parties were surprisingly unanimous in acknowledging the election results. This proves there are neither authorities nor opposition in Ukraine anymore. These people have bartered the country away for seats in the Parliament,” – she pointed out.
Natalia Korolevska emphasized that the only representative of the former opposition who didn’t give up the struggle is Yulia Tymoshenko. “Reaction of “Batkivshchyna” leaders to her response showed that Yatsenyuk and Turchynov are most interested in her further imprisonment. They acknowledged the election results even before the vote count was finished in single-member constituencies, where authorities are gaining ground on opposition and independent candidates. Connivance of opposition leaders will allow the Party of Regions to form more than just a majority – a constitutional majority,” – the politician said.
At the same time, Natalia Korolevska assured journalists that the “Ukraine – Forward!” Party will not quit politics. It will continue building a modern political force and strive to form a new opposition in Ukraine. “We have lost the battle, but we haven’t lost the war. Our main aim is to form a new opposition leaning on the society. We will unite all sound-minded forces of the society that want real changes in the country but are not represented in politics,” – she said.
“The “Ukraine – Forward!” is the youngest political force in the country. We have received invaluable experience and a good lesson. Our victories are yet to come!” – Natalia Korolevska stated.
